Car Insurance Daewoo (Car Insurance). Would this give me 4-corner idle control on my 750 Holley carb............?Would this give me 4-corner idle control on my 750 Holley carb............? I have a 525 HP Boss 351 Cleveland swapped into an '86 Thunderbird. The engine idles at 1,400 RPM with about 6-6.5" of vacuum. The cam is a Cam Dynamics grind with 266/276 @ .050 and .616/.642 lift on 108 centers.....(maybe 106's... I used to run this motor with a "Glide and a brake.) Anyhow, even with 5/16th's holes drilled in the primary throttle blades and the idle mixture screws backed out 6 turns (there's no screw left in the fuel passageway!! The 8itch is free-flowing idle fuel!!) it wants more idle fuel. I'm thinking of borrowing a primary metering block from one of the 600's on my tunnel ram set-up, and using it as a secondary metering block in the back of the 750. Has any of my fellow Y/A! racers ever tried this? Did it work? My dad is a Mechanic I will ask him but I have no Idea though. Auto parts : Exhaust Pipe Acura 1995 . Daewoo . How to Repair a Polyurethane BumperMost late model automobiles have plastic bumpers that are able to absorb mild impacts. When hit hard enough, however, these bumpers can split and crack, resulting in unsightly damage. Common to many models, polyurethane bumpers have stamps on them that denote their chemical makeup. A "PUR" (polyurethane rigid) stamp on your bumper means it should be treated with a special repair process that allows proper adhesion and flexibility. Most auto parts stores sell kits that enable car owners to complete this work themselves. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Owner's manual Dish washing soap Towels and rags Socket set Ratchet wrench Screwdrivers Sandpaper (80,120, 400-grit) Bumper repair kit (plastic filler, plastic cleaner, prep solvent) Putty blade Cardboard Plastic tape Die grinder Rotary file bit Sanding block Thick sponge Mixing stick Step by Step : 1 Remove the bumper from the vehicle, if you haven't already done so. Use the correct sockets and wrench. Some bumpers require loosening several screws in the back bumper plate, then sliding the bumper off as a separate unit. Consult your owner's manual for the proper location of the screws, fasteners and brackets. Once the bumper has been removed, clean it inside and out with soap, water and a sponge. Dry it with towels. 2 Set the bumper on a bench, backside facing up. Scuff up the crack area with 80-grit sandpaper, overlapping the crack area by at least four inches. Wipe it down with a rag soaked in plastic surface cleaner from your kit. Dry buff it with a clean towel. Use another rag that is wet with prep solvent from your kit to wipe down the crack area. Wipe in only one direction, not back and forth. Complete the exact same steps with the front side of the bumper. 3 Affix a rotary drill bit to a die grinder. Carefully cut a U-shaped bevel in the crack from one end to the other on the backside of the bumper. Flip the bumper over and do the same to the front side. The bevels will allow more surface area for the plastic filler. Clean both areas again, starting with the plastic cleaner and drying it. Then use the prep solvent on a rag to wipe in one direction across the crack area. 4 Make sure the bumper sits front side up. Apply plastic adhesive tape from your kit across the length of the crack and press it down firmly in place. Use as much tape as you need. Flip the bumper over. Consult the directions for the plastic filler that came with your kit. Mix in equal parts of the hardener and adhesive on a scrap of cardboard or paper and swirl the formula with a stick until it mixes thoroughly. 5 Scoop the plastic filler mixture with a putty knife and trowel it into the grooved crack (backside of bumper). Build up the height of the plastic filler by spreading it thick. Overlap the crack at least four inches. Let the plastic filler dry and cure for about 30 minutes, or according to your directions. 6 Flip the bumper so it rests face up. Remove all the tape from the crack surface. Mix another batch of plastic filler on a piece of cardboard or paper. Use the putty knife to trowel plastic filler into the crack. Build up the height of the plastic filler so it sits slightly higher than the bumper's surface. Overlap the crack by at least four inches. Let it air dry and cure according to directions. 7 Use the heavy 80-grit sandpaper, wrapped around a sanding block, to sand over the crack area. Use smooth, even back-and-forth strokes, but don't sand all the way to the surface level. If the crack rests on a curve or seam area, place the sandpaper in your palm or wrap it over a stiff sponge, so it follows the contour of the bumper surface. 8 Use 120-grit sandpaper to take down the surface further, sanding as you did with the 80-grit. For the final finish, use the 400-grit sandpaper to sand the surface down level with the bumper's surface. When satisfied with the final sanding, wipe it down with plastic cleaner. You can now prime and paint your bumper accordingly. Tips & Warnings Use a particle mask and gloves if you are sensitive to adhesive fumes. Do this job in a well-ventilated area. Leave the plastic filler build-up on the backside of the bumper. You do not need to sand it--it will help reinforce the crack area and give it strength.
Daewoo . How to Fix a Front BumperA damaged bumper brings the value of a vehicle down, but it can be restored at home with some cleaning, sanding, filling, mending and painting. All of the supplies needed to complete a home bumper repair can be found at most auto supply stores. Bumper color coat matches can be made at auto supply stores as well. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Liquid soap Car degreaser Carbide burr 80-grit sandpaper Air compressor Plastic repair reinforcing tape Adhesion promoter Paintbrush Wire mesh Wire cutters Bonding adhesive Putty knife Flexible bumper sealer Textured bumper spray Flexible bumper primer surfacer Bumper color coat 320- to 400-grit wet/dry application sandpaper Step by Step : 1 Wash the bumper with liquid soap and water, then wash again with a car degreaser solution. Rinse well until the rinse water runs off smoothly instead of beading up. 2 Scrape off any sharp snags around the damage with a carbide burr and then sand the front of the bumper with 80-grit sandpaper. Blow all of the sanding debris away with an air compressor before taping over the back of any gouges and closing up any cracks with plastic repair reinforcing tape. 3 Brush a layer of adhesion promoter onto the back of the damaged areas with a paintbrush and allow 10 minutes for it to dry. 4 Cut wire mesh with wire cutters to cover the back of the damage. Make the mesh large enough to extend 2 inches around the damage on all sides. 5 Apply a bonding adhesive to the back of the damage with a putty knife, and cover it with wire mesh. Apply another layer of bonding adhesive over the wire mesh. 6 Scrape halfway through the bumper along the damaged area with a carbide burr, creating a 1-inch-wide groove. Blow the scraps away with compressed air. Paint adhesion promoter into the groove and let it dry for 10 minutes. 7 Completely fill the prepared groove with body filler. Press the air bubbles out and then smooth it with a putty knife. Allow 30 minutes for it to dry. 8 Sand the area with 80-grit sandpaper once it has completely dried. Blow the sanding dust away with compressed air. 9 Apply a coat of aerosol flexible bumper sealer to the entire bumper. Sealer is applied to promote primer paint adhesion and to keep the repairs from feathering out into the paint. Coat the front of the bumper with textured bumper spray if necessary. Step by Step : 10 Prime the bumper with an aerosol can of flexible bumper primer surfacer to help the paint adhere to the bumper properly. Step by Step : 11 Spray the bumper with aerosol bumper color coat. Once it is dry, wet-sand the bumper with 320-grit sandpaper and then rinse the bumper clean. Let dry. Step by Step : 12 Repeat the previous step five times, replacing the 320-grit sandpaper with 400-grit sandpaper to finish the last coat. Spray the bumper one final time with bumper color coat, and let dry for 12 hours. Although most fuel systems have some basic components in common, fuel systems do vary: Some employ fuel injectors to get the fuel to the engine, and others rely on carburetors. (If your vehicle has a diesel engine, be sure to read Chapter 7 as well.) Daewoo . How do you release pressure from putting in too much refrigerant in a car?
Let it drain out. It will overfill, just let it drain. Yugo GV. * In this chapter, I introduce you to both carbureted and fuel-injected systems as I trace the flow of fuel from the fuel tank to the engine block. When you know what each part does and where to find it, it's easy to see how all the parts work together to provide your vehicle with "GO power." If a picture is worth a thousand words, actually looking at and maybe even touching something is worth a thousand pictures. If possible, take this book out to your car, open the hood, and visit with the parts of the fuel system as you read about them. When you encounter terms in special type that are unfamiliar to you, you can find out all about them in the glossary at the end of this book. 106 Daewoo .
